Eight of Swords

The Eight of Swords is imprisonment by belief. Upright, it maps the trap precisely: the bindings are real feelings, but the cage has a gap and your feet were never tied. Restriction here is mostly narrative — what you have decided cannot be done, asked, or survived. Shuffle forward and test the fence; it is thinner than the story.
♺ Reversed
Reversed, the blindfold comes off: self-imposed limits recognized, options reappearing, the first stumbling steps out of the sword-ring. It can also warn that freedom will briefly feel worse than the cage — new sight always stings. Walk anyway.
