Death

A skeleton in black armor rides a white horse, carrying a black banner with a white rose. A king lies fallen beneath the hooves, a child and a maiden wait in its path, and a bishop pleads — while behind them all, the sun rises between two towers.

★ Upright

Death in the cards is transformation, almost never literal. Upright, it marks the definitive end of a chapter — a job, an identity, a relationship, a version of you — so the next one can begin. The card is honest about the grief and equally honest about the sunrise in the background. Let what is finished be finished.

♺ Reversed

Reversed, the ending is being resisted: clinging to what has already died, half-leaving, dragging out a conclusion everyone can see. The change will happen either way; the inversion only decides how expensive it becomes. Release your grip and the card immediately reads upright.
