King of Pentacles

Upright, he favors sound investments, dependable leadership, and enjoying prosperity without being owned by it. He often represents a successful mentor or the settled authority your ventures are ripening toward.

Reversed, the empire owns the emperor: workaholism, status guarded over substance, generosity swapped for control of the purse. It can also mark bad stewardship — the reliable hand suddenly speculating. Remember the armor under the robe was for building, not for hoarding.
